Stolen Property Recovered From Craigslist
MODESTO (CBS13) ―
Modesto Police Detectives conducted an undercover sting
operation today and purchased stolen property from a 21-year-old
suspect who listed the items for sale on the internet.  Jose Antonio
Gomez Jr. of Modesto was subsequently arrested and booked for
possession of stolen property.

The operation began with information received from a victim whose
vehicle was burglarized on Sunday.  The victim reported the
burglary on Sunday and said he had an aviation GPS unit worth
$3,200.00 stolen from his work truck while it was parked on the
street in front of his home.  The victim began searching the internet
on websites such as Craig's List and Ebay to find his stolen
property.

Email Sept 10, 2008 - We did register with Swift. They have
apprehended the suspects and recovered some of our stuff, but many
personal and sentimental items are still missing. An estimated
$15,000 worth of stuff almost. We are supposed to appear in court the
first of Sept. If you could, just say some prayers that the individuals will
have some sense of remorse and integrity and that they will share with
us where the remainder of our things are or went. We would really like
to have our "life" back. Have a good evening,  Joseph in Texas
